IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) can effectively treat all of these and is recognised as one of the most effective treatments for facial issues, stimulating collagen production, resulting in a reduction in fine lines/wrinkles and an improvement in skin texture.

Rosacea - This is a condition that affects the skin on the face, causing redness or flushing. The cause is unknown, the symptoms can include a red face, redness, dryness and thickened skin. The theory is that a naturally occurring mite that lives on the skin, causes inflammation via the bacteria that it carries.
Visible blood veins can develop when the condition gets worse, the symptoms will usually come and go.
IPL is known for its antibacterial benefits and reduction of redness. After the treatment the area may be red, this will last for a few days, typically 3-4 treatments are recommended to quickly and effectively remove rosacea.

Thread Veins - These are also referred to as spider veins, they are tiny damaged veins or broken capillaries just below the surface of the skin. They can appear anywhere on the body but are most commonly found on the face around the nose, cheeks and legs.
As we get older, we are more prone to seeing thread veins due to our veins becoming weaker and bursting or in some cases can be a result of trauma to the skin, or after UV exposure. Thread vein treatment can address these issues.
IPL is one of our treatments of choice, we also offer Laser vein removal and injectable vein removal, so we have plenty of options.
IPL is used to break down the thread veins, the bright light from the IPL is absorbed by the colour within the blood vessel. The absorption of heat damages the vessel, which is then broken down by the body and carried away by lymph drainage.
3-4 treatments are recommended, many clients see thread veins disappear completely, while others see a reduction in appearance. There are a small number of people that see no results. It is important to remember that vessels can return, or new ones may develop so maintenance treatments may be necessary

Acne can strike at any age and typically affects the face, neck, back and chest. IPL for acne is very effective at reducing the number and severity of spots. It can also reduce blackheads and oil production. We also offer LED Light treatments for acne, for those of you that are worried about lasers.

Pigmentation/Sunspots - This treatment is particularly effective for targeting pigmentation, sunspots and age spots which may occur on the face, decollete and back of the hands.
Pigmentation treatment will help in the removal of pigmented areas of the body that in some cases are kept covered due to embarrassment. Most clients have issues on the face, where they have been exposed to too much sun, freckles or hyperpigmentation.
IPL is an amazing technology used to treat a variety of complaints, sunspots and liver spots are a dead giveaway for age, liver spots occur naturally as part of the ageing process but sunspots are caused by excessive sun exposure. Sometimes, people can have areas of excess pigmented skin due to medical conditions.
The treatment works by delivering short pulses of light which are absorbed by the high concentration of melanin found in age spots, sunspots and pigmented areas. Once the melanin is heated, it is destroyed and the areas will eventually flake away or fade.
Some small areas only need a single treatment, a course of 3-4 treatments is usually needed for best results. The area will become darker before it gets better.
Port Wine Stain Reduction - This is a collection of abnormally formed blood vessels (capillaries) in the skin, which results in a red mark that may have the colour of port wine. Although most port wine stains are present at birth, it has been known to develop later in life.
The cause of this is unknown. During the development of an affected baby in a mother's womb, abnormal small blood vessels are formed near the surface of the skin.
Most port wine stains affect the face, but they may involve any area of the skin. The appearance tends to change during life, a flat red, purple or pink mark is usually seen at birth, which may become temporarily darker when a baby cries, has a temperature or starts teething.
These often turn darker red or purple in adults and the skin becomes thicker. A port wine stain does not go away on its own and cannot be cured by a doctor, however, a laser works very effectively to reduce the colour, immediately after treatment it does turn darker and can crust over. The aim of the treatment is to make the area paler.
