Advanced Skin Resurfacing for Acne, Scarring & Ageing
Chemical peels are highly versatile medical-grade treatments that can be applied to the face, neck, décolleté, and hands. At our Grays clinic, we use specific acid formulations to treat a variety of complex skin concerns, including:
-
Anti-Ageing: Softening the appearance of fine lines and deep wrinkles.
-
Acne Management: Treating active outbreaks and preventing future congestion.
-
Scarring: Smoothing the texture of acne scars and superficial skin damage.
-
Pigmentation: Fading sun damage, age spots, melasma, and uneven skin tone.
-
Skin Health: Improving the symptoms of Rosacea and overall skin texture.
We recommend having a course of 4-6 treatments, once every 2 weeks and then a peel every 2-3 months if using alone.
For optimum skin resurfacing, we recommend a course of 4–6 peels spaced 2 weeks apart.
To further enhance your results, Chemical Peels can be combined with Microneedling or Dermaplaning.
We recommend scheduling these treatments 2 weeks either side of your peel to allow the skin to fully regenerate and achieve a superior 'glass skin' finish.

Understanding Peel Depths: Superficial vs Medium vs Deep
Superficial Peels (The "Lunchtime" Peel)
These provide a subtle, cumulative improvement. By removing the outermost layer of the skin (the epidermis), these peels are perfect for treating fine wrinkling, mild acne, and uneven colouring.
-
Recovery: Hours to a few days.
-
Downtime: Little to none.
Medium Peels (Deep Freshness)
These peels remove both the epidermis and the upper part of the middle skin layer (dermis). This is the gold standard for treating moderate skin discolouration, age spots, and acne scarring.
-
Recovery: One week or more.
-
Downtime: Some visible peeling is expected.
Deep Peels (The Dramatic Transformation)
Our most intensive treatment, penetrating down to the lower middle layer of the skin. This is a one-time-only treatment for the face, reserved for extensive sun damage and deep acne scars.
-
Recovery: Significant healing time required.
-
Downtime: This treatment involves a committed recovery period.
