SHR (Super Hair Removal) Laser Removal is now seen as the most effective method of hair removal for larger areas of the body i.e., legs, chest, back and arms. It uses low energy and rapid pulsing diode laser but at a higher frequency. The diode allows the skin to be heated gently, while 50% of the energy is targeted at the melanin (similar to IPL), and the other 50% targets the stem cells responsible for hair production. Targeting both fine and coarse hairs.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Hair Removal is a safe, and easy treatment for smaller areas of the body i.e., face, underarms, bikini line, lip etc. Both of our hair removal treatments are suitable for men and women, all skin tones, all hair colours and can treat all areas of the face and body, between them.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) uses a broad spectrum of light frequencies to target the follicles of each hair. The IPL heats the root and will, over time, kill the follicle removing the hair, and reducing the amount of hair regrowth. Hair growth cycles vary and at any one stage, you will have different amounts of hair in each stage of this growth cycle. Because of this, not all hairs will respond in a similar way in each session. Therefore a number of separate sessions, over a period of time would be needed to obtain a good long-lasting result.

You must be over the age of 18 and provided you meet our criteria and your medical history has been checked.

It feels like being flicked with an elastic band, some parts of the body are a little more sensitive than others.

Your hair will appear to still be growing, after 1st sessions, it s normal for their to be patches of hair as the treatment works on the stages of hair growth. Each session will bring better results.

Once you exfoliate the skin you will see the hair coming away, with no further hair being produced in the targeted follicles.

Your skin may be red after the treatment and some of the follicles swollen, this will reduce in a few hours.

You should protect the area you are having treated from sunlight, before and after your treatment. This will all be explained at your consultation in full as you will be required to have a patch test before the treatment.

You must also shave the area 24 hours before your treatment.

It is your responsibility to fully follow our pre care and aftercare.

You will be asked at the consultation about your medical history and any medication you may be taking, as some medications can be a contraindication to this treatment.

You should avoid sunbathing, sunbeds and any kind of spray tanning or fake tan 30 days prior and 30 days after your treatment.

This is to ensure you get the best possible treatment and this treatment is melanin sensitive, so we ask you to do this to avoid any hypo or hyper pigmentation. All of our advice MUST be followed exactly.

Only hair that is actively growing will be affected, hence why you would need roughly 6 sessions to ensure you treat the hair at the different hair cycle stages.

These sessions will be 4-6 weeks apart. This is not a permanent solution for all, as you may need to come back in 6-12 months for top up sessions dependant on your hair type.
