PERMANENT MAKEUP & MICROBLADING

Every day, millions of women (and even men) spend time applying makeup, whether it is to enhance their eyebrows, eyeliner or lips. Unfortunately, most makeup wears off, smudges, gets transferred elsewhere or is just applied poorly due to poor vision. Permanent Makeup is your solution to all of these, perfect for women of all ages (over 18), sporty people, busy mums, people with poor eyesight, sensitive to makeup or just fed up with applying makeup everyday.

Permanent Makeup is known as intradermal pigmentation, a method of applying micro insertions of natural pigments into the dermal layer of skin, using a tattooing machine. It is used for a variety of cosmetic treatments, such as permanent eyebrows, eyeliner, lip liner, lip blush and full lips.

Frequently asked questions

What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent Makeup is known as intradermal pigmentation, a method of applying micro insertions of natural pigments into the Dermal layer of the skin, using a tattooing machine. It is used for a variety of cosmetic treatments, such as permanent eyebrows, eyeliner, lip liner, lip blush and full lips.

What is Microblading?

Microblading or (eyebrow embroidery) is a relatively new manual method, as compared to the traditional hair stroke technique. It is done by using a very fine balde to deposit pigments into the Epidermis, because we are impacting colour closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and very fine. This method is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows. The results are natural looking, hair like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present.

What can i expect right after my treatment?

Topical anesthetics are used to minimise discomfort during the treatment. There will be slight swelling and redness to the skin, which will subside quickly. The treated area will appear 50% darker than the desired outcome colour, for aboyt 7 days. A cream (which is provided for you), is applied over the 7 day healing process, clients will be given specific aftercare instructions and a day to day healing guide. You may resume normal activities immediately after the treatment.

What can i expect over time?

Complete healing takes 4-6 weeks, while the pigment matures and reaches its final colour. You will have a top up appointment at this time to finish your treatment, as this is a two treatment process and is included in our price. We do this as it is difficult to predict how well the skin will retain the pigment. The first session we always go lighter to see how it heals, as if it is too dark, we can not take the colour away, but we can add to the colour to make it darker. The results can last anywhere from 1-3 years, depending on different factors and lifestyle. A colour boost is needed once a year to retain the shape and pigment retention.

Why do i need a patch test?

This is require to ensure you are not allergic to any of the products that we use. This needs to be carried out before, i can book you in for any treatments, at the consultation. As long as there is no allergic reaction, after 2 hours and dependant on your medical history, i can book your appointment.

How long does a treatment take?

Before the treatment, you will be booked in for a consultation, ensuring that the end results suits your needs and matches your expectations. A patch test will be carried out 24 hours before the treatment. Each treatment is a two step process, 4-6 weeks apart (it is important to complete both visits). The initial treatment takes 1-2 hours approx. During this time your new eyebrows will be drawn on for your approval, once you are satisfied with the shape and only when you are fully agreeable, will the treatment begin. The end result will depend on 50% pigment and 50% helaing, we all heal differently and what works on one client, may not be effective on another. This is why a second visit is so important. The second treatment, also known as the top up, takes approx 40-60 mins. This treatment will be between 4-6 weeks after the first treatment, as it takes that long for the pigment to settle in the skin, soften and heal correctly. You will not be able to have any changes made inbetween this time, until you are fully healed, as we cannot touch the skin whilst it is healing. It is important that you complete the second treatment, as without it, you would have only had half of your treatment and resuts will not be as good as they should be. The top up gives you an oppurtunity to make any changes that you would like and add any colour that may not have implanted into the skin at the first session. The colour will have faded in the 4-6 weeks, as the skin heals, peels and fades, this is completely nomal. The look of the eyebrows in the first 7 days, will be very defined and no indication on the finished results, as immediately after the treatment your eyebrows will look 50% darker and thicker.

Are there any speical precautions?

Clients who have medical/cardiac conditions may need a doctors clearance before going ahead. Occasionally these clients may need prophylatic antibiotics, a letter from their GP will be sufficient as clearance. Clients who have anti-wrinkle treatments, must come before, or nearing the end of a treatment. Clients on blood thinners like aspirin/warfarin are NOT suitable. Pregnant and breast feeding mothers, need to wait until feeding ends.
